Todd Ray talks enrollment at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, continuing the twelve week summer semester for the second year, adding a number of courses this year, enrollment over the years, increase in enrollment since 1981, expanding rapidly, tripling their enrollment since 1977, not expecting any more dramatic increases but still having increases in enrollment, increases in enrollment due to the attractiveness of the student loan program and expansion of the curriculum, courses offered in the summer, continuation of an effort started a few years ago to move into a broader array of disciplines, expanding the physical and natural sciences, taking advantage of the geography and offering more field courses, mathematics having a very strong enrollment, offering high demand courses from the fall and spring in the summer, computer science, courses for newly hired teachers in Alaska, directing course offerings toward teachers, but they are moving to a more comprehensive program, options for summer school registration, a three week session in June for shorter classes, six week session starting in July, the twelve week semester, and housing.
