Lee Salisbury, director of the production of Skin of our teeth, talks about why they selected the play, wanting a play which was humorous and with a large cast, the opportunities for both male and female actors, the main characters in the play, deliberate anachronisms, making the play organized, Wilder's faith in humanity, melodrama and adventure, needing plays which provides more opportunities for the increasing numbers of drama students in the department, now having twenty-five drama majors, more and more students wanting to experience being on stage, why there are more drama majors, the amount of contact with their students as opposed to other majors at the university, and students feeling more involved and a part of what they are doing.
