Vince Haneman talks about the shortage of engineering faculty, national shortfall, vacancies in the Engineering Department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the lack of qualified engineers for redesign of public works, accreditation rates, vacancy replacements at the University of Alaska, the number of students enrolled at the university, student faculty ratios, funding for the Duckering Building, the engineering student population, increased female enrollment, need to prepare students coming from rural locations in the state, importance of research for faculty, trends in engineering education, and the need to encourage students to consider faculty positions.
