Edwin Hewitt talks about teaching as a visiting professor in the mathematics department, teaching freshman calculus and a graduate course on fourier analysis, his many teaching appointments throughout the world, teaching at the University of Washington since 1948, rings of continuous function, serving as university marshal at the University of Washington, his other interests including playing the French horn, the unchangeable nature of mathematics compared to other sciences, working in the Soviet Union, the exchange program with the Academy of Sciences, his love of mathematics, why he came to Alaska, his family and college football programs.
