McKinley/Denali National Park, a glacier, a red squirrel on a picnic table, a magpie, Dall sheep, caribou, a close view of a grizzly bear feeding, blueberries, autumn colors across the tundra, trees, a ptarmigan, a moose, an arctic ground squirrel, a moose, airplanes on skis taking off and landing, John Baker with an airplane, John Baker hunting goose, a beaver in a pond, and a dog chasing after fish.

Otter of Fairbanks pushing a barge, a grouse on the road, men working on a cabin, a small boat being launched in a lake, men cutting ice for drinking water with a hand saw, a car pulling a sled with blocks of ice, a fire in a Fairbanks Laundry building, and a formation of military airplanes. These notes are from Jennifer Jolis of Fairbanks and UAF Prof. Stanley Edwin of Fort Yukon, who viewed this film in the Alaska Film Archives offices at the Rasmuson Library, UAF, on November 21, 2017. Jolis was a VISTA volunteer and Edwin was a 6-year-old growing up in Chalkyitsik, Alaska, during 1966-1967, when Jolis and others shot these films. AAF-13934 contains scenes of Eagle-the-dog; slough where fall fishing and ice fishing happened; Bobby Moses as a boy; Alice and Carl Moses cutting moose; Marianne Nicholson; Patty Salmon in canvas-covered canoe; summer of 1966 scenes; cabins with poles sticking up for radio reception; cabins; greenhouse and the old school, which was replaced in 1967 because of flooding; Bob Mott’s barge; Fort Yukon boat; Bill Fredson changing stovepipe; children playing on oil barrels include Stanley Edwin, Darryl Salmon, Robert Moses, Paul Edwin, and Agnes Herbert (wearing a scarf); unknown boy on swing; girl on swing is Isabelle Salmon wearing red; Bill Fredson with hand over face; scenes from flying over Chalkyitsik – possibly in Wien airplane – when Jolis was first arriving in 1966; fall time of year; Red Bluff, so called because of the reddish color of the soil; Johnny Edwin and possibly Woody Salmon in plaid shirt (maybe Paul Herbert shot this portion of the film); and Bill Fredson at lake.

Footage includes children playing in snow outside a cabin, children walking with their mother, a Wien airplane landing, a moose, a group of Eskimos in an outboard powered riverboat arriving at a fish camp on the shore, dead caribou being unloaded from a Nodwell tracked vehicle, caribou, a view of a mining camp in winter, a dogsled, spring break-up on a river, a mining camp, a man feeding a black bear, a camp with a Telache Oil and Mining sign on the building, Christmas and other domestic family scenes, a mock wedding, and real married couple departing in a decorated car. Additional footage includes a man unloading a light airplane that flipped during landing, a helicopter arriving, a dog sled, a helicopter hauling a barrel of fuel, getting a camp water with a Nodwell, and camp activities. Additional footage includes a family Christmas, someone hauling freight in a small truck, children playing and working in a Kobuk school, Kobuck village scenes, and an aircraft departing. Additional footage features airplanes in Palm Springs, aerial views of Interior Alaska in winter, a river break-up, aerial and ground views of a mining camp, an ATCO building at a camp, a Wien C-46, a Caterpillar clearing snow, a light airplane landing, mining activity with heavy equipment, airplanes, men building a log cabin, a Cessna 180 on skis departing, a C-82 cargo airplane landing and departing, a Caterpillar clearing snow, sled dog races, and Yukon 800 boat races. Additional footage includes Santa Claus at a Christmas party in a village, Tanana Winter Carnival dog races, a supply barge on the Yukon River, and a water skier on the Yukon River.
